Starting from the end of Pigeon House Road, this steep walk in Morton National Park will reward you with amazing views from the top of the mountain. Let us begin by acknowledging the Wodi Wodi & Wandandian people, Traditional Custodians of the land on which we travel today, and pay our respects to their Elders past and present.

  • Turn right onto Yadboro Road and drive for another 3.5 km
  • Turn slight left onto Pigeon House Road and drive for another 1.1 km
  • Turn left and drive for another 4 m

Find the shelter at the start.
Find the toilet at the start.
After 50 m pass the car park (8 m on your left).
After another 30 m pass the sign (7 m on your right).
After another 750 m head down the earthen steps (about 135 m long)
The starting point of an optional sidetrip. Side trip to a lookout with views over the area. To start this optional side trip turn right here. On returning from this side trip turn right when you get back to this intersection. Details below.
Continue straight.
After another 25 m head down the very steep (10% ~ 5.7°) earthen incline (about 1.2 km long)
Then head down the earthen steps (about 215 m long)
After another 100 m head down the earthen steps (about 215 m long)
After another 25 m pass a seat (5 m on your left)., has no backrest.
Then head down the earthen steps (about 30 m long)
After another 10 m head down the earthen steps (about 30 m long)
Then head down the earthen steps (about 7 m long)
After another 85 m come to "Pigeon House Mountain".
"Pigeon House Mountain".
Turn around here and retrace the main route for 2.8 km to get back to the start.

Side trip to a lookout with views over the area.
