Colloquial term used by a small subset of bushwalkers for the hinged pot grips used to pick up hot cooking pots which do not have a built on handle. Such pot grips are included with some brands of bushwalking stove kits, such as the Trangia prondonicles.

The coining of the term 'prondonicles' is attributed to Sharon Shadbolt at Dixons Kingdom Hut in the Walls of Jerusalem National Park (Tasmania) on the Australia Day long weekend in 1990.
