Canyon

A deep, narrow, steep-sided valley, often featuring vertical cliffs, rocky terrain and water. A canyon is usually formed as a result of erosion by a watercourse, such as a river or creek, over millions of years. An example of a larger Tasmanian canyon is the Leven Canyon in the north west, to the south of Ulverstone near Nietta.
